WordPress 3.0 and Roster plugin

WordPress 3.0 has been released and I am loving the new admin theme. I’m sure there are many new and exciting changes that I am yet unaware of, but the most significant for me is that wp-lifestream, -the- plugin this theme was build around, is broken. Slowly but steadily the creator is releasing fixes, but whatever my problem might be; it hasn’t been fixed yet.

In other news; I’m creating my first wordpress plugin. It started as a plugin I could use for my Team Fortress 2 clan Gathering of Tweakers 3. But I decided to simplify it a bit and make it more general; a roster page for anything involving a team. Be it a roster page for your Guild Wars guild or for your Team Fortress 2 clan. Plans for the future involve support for multiple teams, grabbing avatars from steam and quite possibly other sites, wow armoury support, aion site support. Though I’m not sure about the later two, this one is meant to be quite generic and implementing something like that in an all-round plugin might be a bit too much, especially since there are probably plugins out there that already do that.

Anyway all those things are beyond what I can do with php at the moment, as this is my first php creation ever.

I’m not quite up yet getting the thing running. Currently analysing what Freeply made for omnomnom.nl to see how to add images. I know nothing about php :/

That sounds pretty awesome. How’s the plugin coming?

I recall being stuck and moving on to another project, especially since I myself hardly play anymore this has become shelved. I am planning on picking it up again though. I believe the solution to my problem was simple: First focus on getting one team into the plugin before even thinking about making something that can manage multiple teams at the same time.

You created some excellent factors there. I did a search on the subject and discovered most men and women will concur with
    your weblog.

What a beautiful plugin idea and project. I can see a LOT of application for this, and am interested myself. I’m sure it’ll come to life when the time is right!
